Fairyhill and Rhossili Bay Wedding

If you’ve read my other posts about the times I’ve covered weddings in Wales you’ll know how much I love to rave about them and point out how I always have the best time when I’m there. Steph and Gary’s Wedding at Fairyhill, Gower was no exception.

Steph was Maid of Honour at Sian and Dan’s Wedding at St Donat’s Castle the year before so it was good to see so many familair faces again.

Their wedding at Fairyhill was in November and they really wanted some photos at Rhossili Bay which wasn’t a problem but the wind was. That’s the thing with November weddings on the coast, the weather doesn’t care about your intentions and will do whatever it wants to.

We managed to avoid the rain but the wind was blowing a gale and Steph’s dress acted like a kite! We were only out for ten minutes to get the shot below as well as others further down this post but it was tricky. But then again we wouldn’t have achieved the sense of movement in the frames.

Fairyhill certainly is a great venue to shoot at. They were able to get ready on site and there are lots of place to go to for photos both inside and out. The rain did make itself known so the more formal family groupings were taken inside but other than this it didn’t really have much impact on the day.

Fairyhill only made up a part of the experience though, the rest was made up from the lovely Welsh family and friends who, as always, were the most fun to be around and who kept buying me Tequila’s. There were shots pre-ceremony and throughout the day until late. The bar was busy!
