Gildings Barns Weddings
Located in the serene countryside of Surrey, just 6 miles south of Dorking, Gildings Barns provide an idyllic and charming backdrop for a truly romantic wedding. Nestled amidst open fields adorned with mature woodland, this venue offers a tranquil and picturesque setting.
Comprising three distinct structures – the Gildings Barn, the Threshing Barn, and the Side Barn – this lovely venue unfolds its beauty in a wonderful manner. The interconnecting traditional oak-framed barns create a unique and magical atmosphere, gradually guiding guests towards the large lawn, the Granary, and the surrounding open farmland.
At Gildings Barns, both the main Gildings Barn and The Granary in the garden hold valid licenses as wedding venues. The endearing Granary is particularly ideal for sunny weather, allowing guests to enjoy the outdoor seating. On the other hand, the main barn, designed in a Dutch style, offers flexibility, accommodating up to 110 people indoors in case of unfavorable weather conditions.
Exclusive hire of the barns is available for a maximum of two days per week. Gildings Barn prioritizes limited availability to ensure a select number of wedding dates each year. This arrangement grants couples the unique opportunity to set up the day before their special day.
With complete freedom to decorate the venue according to their preferences and orchestrate the wedding as they wish, Gildings Barn offers ample indoor and outdoor space, encouraging boundless possibilities for entertainment and creativity.
The images featured here are from Claire and James’ late May wedding at Gildings Barn. They had an outdoor ceremony with around 100 guests and a regular celebrant to the barns, Jenny Knight, holding the ceremony.
There were a few options to where the ceremony could have been held, inside the main barn (but it was a gorgeous day) and outside, in front of the granary or overlooking the fields. The time of year meant Claire and James had a beautiful meadow in front of them so that’s where they chose.
And it was a gorgeous day, the sky was clear but had whisps of cloud, enough to take the heat out of the day. It was perfect.
One of the many thing I loved about Gildings Barn was that there were so many places to go for photos.
The sweeping Oak tree, the Granary, the fields and the tree line. All of which changed their look depending on the position of the sun.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day at Gildings Barn and cannot wait to go back!
